This is fascinating. A set of scammers (who were unskilled technically) call a professional infosec engineer and try to scare him into giving them cash to renew his “software subscriptions”. The full article can be found at darkreading.com.
I would love to set up a honeypot like this and troll these scammer douchebags. Superlolz at the fact they didn’t realize they were in a virtualized setting EVEN AFTER THE VMWARE BIOS POPS UP. Total n00bz.
